Scope and Contents

From the Collection: These bound volumes document some of the activities at the Philadelphia General Hospital from the years 1884 to 1941. Materials include: registers of resident physicians (1884-1913); registers of attending physicians, surgical chiefs, and neurological chiefs; clinical laboratory reports (1905-1921); daily record of ambulance calls (1933-1941); and an appointment book from the Men’s Nervous Department (1903-1915).

Researchers should be aware that most of the volumes are in poor to fair condition, are fragile, and need to be handled with extra care.
