There were also several standing committees, such as committees on publication and morbid growths. Most of the meetings of the society were held at the College of Physicians of Philadelphia. The categories of membership of the society were: resident, non resident, corresponding, and life. Although its scientific sessions were open to visitors, only society members could attend the private sessions where business was transacted.
