Jacob Price notes on the lectures of Thomas D. Mütter

Scope and Contents Price’s notes interleaved with Thomas D. Mütter’s Syllabus of the course of lectures on principles and practice of surgery (Philadelphia, 1847) and expand on printed text. Notes occur in chronological order from 23 Oct. 1848 through 22 Feb. 1849 and consider inflammation, wounds, diseases of bones and joints, abdominal wounds, syphilis, and amputation. There are also a few pages of Price’s review notes, dated Feb. [1849].

Scope and Contents Student notes by Thomas J. Dunott on surgical lectures of Thomas D. Mütter at Jefferson Medical College, 1852. Notes interleaved with Mütter’s Syllabus of the course of lectures on the principles and practice of surgery. Dunott’s notes concern: amputation; diseases and fractures of bones; inflammation; and wounds and injuries, specifically of head and abdomen. Scope and Contents This small collection documents the medical education of William L. Challiss at Jefferson Medical College, 1847-1848. The collection contains one matriculation card for the 18481849 academic session and admission cards to the lectures of Franklin Bache, Robley Dunglison, Robert M. Huston, Charles D. Meigs, John K. Mitchell, Thomas D. Mutter, and Joseph Pancoast. There is also one card admitting Challiss to lectures at the Philadelphia School of Anatomy in 1847.
