Overview
             Joseph Gibbons Richardson was born in Philadelphia in 1836.  He earned his M.D. in 1862 from the University of Pennsylvania, and later was a lecturer on pathological anatomy and professor of hygiene.  Richardson is best known for his contributions to the field of medical microscopy.  He died in Philadelphia in 1886.The Joseph G.
