The Office of the President of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia was first described in the 1787 constitution. In 2016, the title of "President of the Board of Trustees" was changed to the "Chair of the Board of Trustees." The Executive Director of the College's title was changed to "President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO)." The Board Chair chairs the meetings of the Board and the Executive Committee; is an ex officio member of all committees; with approval of the Board of Trustees, appoints approves, and works closely with the President and Chief Executive Officer to assure optimal management of College affairs and the furtherance of the College's Mission and programs; provides leadership in the fundraising activities of the College; and assumes all other duties and powers usually pertaining to the office.
