Biographical / Historical
           
             George Eastman Stubbs, Philadelphia, Pa., surgeon and teacher, was born on 30 Dec. 1839. He received an A.B. in 1861 from Bowdoin College and an M.D. from Harvard Medical School in 1863. After service in the Civil War, Stubbs practiced medicine in Cincinnati, Ohio, then Philadelphia, Pa. He was a founder of the Medico-Chirurgical College of Philadelphia and professor of anatomy, clinical surgery, and surgical pathology there. George E. Stubbs died of a cerebral hemorrhage on 21 Oct. 1909.
