Overview

Stanley A. Plotkin, M.D., has authored and co-authored over 700 publications and developed the standard rubella vaccination which is used worldwide. He is the co-developer of the pentavalent rotavirus vaccine, and has worked extensively on the development and application of other vaccines including anthrax, oral polio, rabies, varicella, and cytomegalovirus. The collection houses reprints, correspondence, testimonies, and lab reports, pertaining to the controversy of the origin of HIV and its debated relation to the oral polio vaccine tested in the Belgian Congo in the late 1950s.
