Creator

Biographical / Historical

The Committee on College Collections was appointed by the Council of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia in 1935 to care for all museum and historical objects which were not to fall under the restrictive provisions of the Mütter Trust and recommend annually to Council a Custodian of College Collections. The committee’s officers were the same as the officers of the Committee on the Mütter Museum, and the Curator of the Mütter Museum was to be Custodian of the College Collections. All material was to be accepted into the College Collections unless the protection of the Mütter Trust was deemed necessary. Currently [1991], the office of Custodian is filled by the Director of the Mütter Museum.
