Scope and Contents

This small collection documents H. Chester Parry's medical education at the University of Pennsylvania, 1859-1861. The collection contains Parry's matriculation card, lecture and clinic admission cards, an examination schedule, and a letter certifying his passage of his examinations. Biographical / Historical

Henry Chester Parry was born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, on 17 June 1839. He was a son of Edwin Owen Parry, a judge. Parry received his M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1861. He then was a Surgeon in the United States Army. Parry died on 7 November 1893 at Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania.
