Overview George Bacon Wood was born in New Jersey 1797 and received his M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1818. He was one of the founders of the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy in 1821, but resigned in 1835 to become Professor of Materia Medica and Pharmacy at the University of Pennsylvania. Scope and Contents One volume of notes on Chapman’s lectures on the practice of medicine. Internal references to Dr. Jackson, Professor of Practice, in Boston, and Dr. Physick’s recent experiments, imply a date prior to 1835. Overview George Joseph Hermann was born in 1873 in Newport, Kentucky, and graduated from the Medical College of Ohio in 1894. In April 1895, he set up his own practice in Newport, Kentucky.
