(Broome, Conesville, and Windham, NY; 1796-1863, and later) Comprises approximately twenty single thick wrappered account books (some bound with multiple gatherings) and several hundred items of miscellaneous paper ephemera, primarily 1840s-1870s, of related interest. Apparently representing three generations of doctors in one family, serving a very rural area of New York State, some 35 miles southwest of Albany.

Douglas P. Murphy (1893-1971) served as a surgeon in the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) with the American Expeditionary Forces (AEF) during World War I. During his military service, Murphy worked in several medical hospitals in France from 1917 until the war’s end in 1918. of E. A. Santee in Luzerne County, Pa., at Hobbie, 1870-1877,
