C. F. Rafinesque correspondence

Scope and Contents This small collection, 1823-1835, contains four letters received by C. S. Rafinesque from various correspondents, including botanist John Torrey, and one letter written by Rafinesque to E. L. Briggs.

The letter from John Torrey describes his botanical research in 1835 while Rafinesque's letter to E. L. Briggs describes a recent journey in eastern Kentucky and touches on many personal matters.
