Scope and Contents

From the Collection: The Deborah Wexler collection of immunization posters contains posters collected during Wexler’s time as executive director of the Immunization Action Coalition (now Immunize.org). Included are posters directed toward healthcare workers, such as one showing the anatomic sites for immunization, and many aimed at encouraging patients to vaccinate their children. Some posters depict recognizable characters, including an enlarged Peanuts strip in which Lucy and Linus get their Measles vaccines; a series of posters produced in partnership with the CDC and Dr. Seuss Enterprises which urge vaccination in Seuss-ian rhyme and illustrations; and a poster in which C-3PO and R2D2 ask “Parents of Earth, are your children fully immunized?”
