Overview
Joseph Gibbons Richardson was born in Philadelphia in 1836. He earned his M.D. in 1862 from the University of Pennsylvania, and later was a lecturer on pathological anatomy and professor of hygiene. The collection consists of Myles Synnott's diploma from
Jefferson Medical College, 1831, and financial records, 1834-1866,
from his Glassboro practice. These financial records consist
of a daybook, 1854-1861, with a chronological listing of patients
and a summary of the transaction, and four ledgers, numbered
B through E, 18341866. The ledgers are organized by name of

This collection of twelve of Thomas F. Madill's daybooks (1857-1892)
spans almost his entire professional career and gives a comprehensive
view of the daily practice of a country physician in the towns
of central Bradford County, Pennsylvania. The daybook entries
are chronological and provide each patient's name, a brief description
